Care with Videri Australia
Whether you’re adjusting to a new dementia diagnosis or preparing for a transition into residential care, we’re here to support you.
In a benchmarking study by Dementia Australia, Videri Australia stood out among more than 80 providers in the traditional aged care sector, outperforming on every measure related to transitioning into care.
When you’re ready to move, we offer 24/7 permanent care and flexible respite care in our welcoming homes, tailored to individuals with progressive cognitive conditions including Alzheimer’s, Vascular dementia, Lewy Body disease, Frontotemporal dementia, Younger Onset dementia, and Parkinson’s-related dementia. We also support individuals living with MND, ALS, Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), and Stroke.
Our mission is to meet you where you are and help you move forward with the right level of support. Your care needs and the associated costs will depend on where you are in your journey. We’re here to help you understand your options, including funding pathways that may be available.
We invite you to get in touch for a conversation about your care needs. Let’s talk.
Our stay options
Ongoing permanent care includes 24/7 supervision, assistance with ADLs by our Homemakers and complex care if required by our Registered Nurses. Our Homemakers also provide nutritious meals and meaningful activities all thoughtfully planned to support wellbeing, routine and enjoyment. We coordinate regular visits from GPs and Allied Health professionals as needed to ensure our resident’s medical and wellbeing needs are being managed. Our Social Workers provide support to both the residents and their families. Your stay will start with a 21-day respite trial period where we get to know each other and learn about your likes and dislikes and what brings joy so that moving into one of our Videri homes feels like a continuation, not a break, from the life you know.
Our Flexible Respite offers a short stay away, with all the comforts of home. This is an important factor to consider for someone experiencing cognitive loss who benefits from familiarity and social connection. A home that offers a connection to the local community, where a person can stay involved in everyday life and feel a genuine sense of belonging, is easier to adapt to and from for a short period of time. Respite includes 24/7 supervision, nutritious meals and meaningful activities, assistance with ADLs by our Homemakers and complex care if required by our Registered Nurses. If you have Support at Home funding (previously a Home Care Package) you can use your Unspent Funds to fund part or all of your stay, and if you are registered with the NDIS you can use your STA to cover 28 days of respite per year.
Our funding options
We are an Australian owned, private model of care with a daily fee that covers Care, Accommodation and Board. You can fund your daily fee in several ways, as follows:
Support at Home (previously Home Care Package): We are classed as a Support at Home Provider, so if you are over 65yrs old, you may be eligible for Government funding to help subsidise the cost of your care. From 1 November 2025 the Home Care Package (HCP) transitions to the new Support at Home program. Similarly to HCP, the Support at Home program allows you to put Government subsidies towards your Daily Care Fee with Videri. You can read more about the program on the Government’s website and how Support at Home funding can be used in our Support at Home Explainer. For Flexible Respite short stay you can use your Support at Home Unspent Funds to cover all or part of your stay.
NDIS Funding: We are also an approved NDIS provider. If you are under 65yrs old, and have NDIS Funding, you can use SIL funding to cover all or part of your Care Fee* or your Short-Term Accommodation funding for flexible respite care. *SIL only applies to your Daily Care Fee, there is an additional out of pocket for your Accommodation and Board.
Private Pay: We are a private-pay model, so if you are self-funded you can pay your Daily Fee privately.

What makes Videri Australia different to traditional aged care?
Recently referred to by industry and medical leaders as ‘the gold standard of dementia care’, our Videri Australia homes draw on best-practice international models that we have adapted to the Australian environment and lifestyle.
Whilst we are not a traditional residential aged care facility or regular nursing home, you can move in to stay with us for 24/7 support and care when the time is right for you. Whether it be for respite or for permanent ongoing care.
We specialise in small, familiar homes for 6-10 residents that look, feel and function like real homes. This model aligns with the National Aged Care Design Principles and Guidelines, as well as recommendations from the Royal Commission, which have recognised the superior health outcomes linked with smaller, more personalised environments for people living with dementia.
People who live with us follow their own routine. They are actively involved in daily life, while being supported by trained team members, called Homemakers, who are onsite 24 hours per day, as well as being supported throughout the week by our Resident Care teams.
When is it time to move into care?
It is never easy to recognise when the right time is to share the care of your loved one with others. Sometimes it is a great idea to start with a day or longer respite stay or it may be the right time to move into 24/7 care. Either way, as every person and family story is different, we would be more than happy to talk with you and guide you. Let’s Talk, call 1300 015 406.

Who do you support at Videri Australia?
We have the privilege of caring for people during one of the most vulnerable chapters of their life, holding space for them as they move through the changes that come with progressive cognitive decline. We have a skilled, multidisciplinary team trained in dementia-specific approaches, including trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support. Our expertise is especially important for people whose needs may not be well supported in mainstream traditional aged care environments.
We support people with a range of conditions, including:
- Younger onset dementia
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Vascular dementia
- Lewy body disease
- Frontotemporal dementia
- Parkinson’s-related dementia
We also provide care for individuals living with complex neurological conditions such as:
- Motor neurone disease (MND) / amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome
- Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)
- Stroke
If you are living with any of these conditions, we understand how difficult it can be. We are ready to be the team by your side – when the time is right. Let’s talk – call us on 1300 015 406.
Do you support people living with younger onset dementia?
We welcome people under 65 who are living with dementia, including those diagnosed with younger onset dementia. Many of our residents have been diagnosed in their 40s, 50s or early 60s, and our care team has deep experience supporting this younger cohort.
We understand that younger onset dementia can affect families at a stage of life that’s already full – careers, children, and the everyday demands of home. For many, it means seeing changes in a parent far earlier than expected or navigating the shift in a partner’s role within the family. The emotional and practical impact is significant and different from later-onset dementia.
That’s why our Social Workers work closely with families living with younger onset, offering support that goes beyond clinical care. Whether it’s helping to adjust to a new diagnosis, navigating NDIS, or simply being there to talk through how to adjust with the changes.
If you are registered with the NDIS, we recommend exploring an application for SIL Funding. This should cover most if not all your Videri Care Fees, leaving a smaller portion of out-of-pocket (accommodation and board) to be covered by you. Our Family Enquiry Team can work with you on how to fund your stay with us and can recommend a good Support Coordinator and Plan Manager, should you need one.
Do you have specialist dementia care programs?
Some people living with dementia experience symptoms that are more complex – changes in behaviour, communication, or emotional wellbeing – that can make everyday life a lot more challenging. Our specialised dementia care expertise is designed to provide the extra support, structure, and environment that people in these situations may need.
We have a skilled, multidisciplinary team trained in dementia-specific approaches, including trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support. We take time to understand what might be driving a person’s responses, whether it is unmet needs, pain, or environmental triggers, and we respond in ways that are respectful, calming, and supportive.
Our aim is always to reduce distress, promote choice and create a setting where each person can feel seen, understood, and valued. Families are included in every step, and we recognise the importance of familiar relationships, routines and communication – even as needs change.
Our specialised expertise is especially important for people whose needs may not be well supported in mainstream care environments. Here, we can tailor the right mix of structure and flexibility to help the person live as well as possible, every day.
Tell me more about your permanent care?
Everybody’s journey is different, so the time that they should receive ongoing permanent care can vary greatly. It all depends on how a person’s dementia progresses and the level of support they need from day to day, as well as how their primary carer may be coping at home.
It’s important to try and include your loved one living with dementia in this decision. This can involve a conversation early on, after diagnosis.
Sometimes, starting with Flexible Respite is a good option and a good way to trial us for permanent care at a later stage. Have a look at our Permanent Care page and when you are ready, get in touch with us on 1300 015 406 or make an enquiry – our team will be only too happy to guide you.
What is the Videri Australia dementia model?
Videri’s dementia care model is very individualised. It can be this way because each home is a small household, with no more than 10 residents. We remain curious with our residents, always seeking out their capabilities and what they love to do. We appreciate that everybody experiences dementia differently, and a person’s needs can change from day to day and hour to hour.
Often referred to as a ‘social model of care’ we create opportunities for cherished moments, and allow people to continue to do the things that they find meaningful and purposeful in their lives. We focus on people’s abilities, rather than the things they can no longer do. Unlike traditional dementia-specific aged care facilities, our model encourages people living with dementia to live as independently as possible in an environment that feels like home.
Do you offer respite care?
Yes, Videri Australia offers flexible respite care for people living with dementia. Respite care gives families, caregivers and people living with dementia the chance to take a break, reset, and plan for the future. It means caregivers can take a break without guilt, knowing their loved ones are receiving the highest level of care. Our respite services are tailored to meet individual needs, and we offer a range of options from a one-day stay, weekend stays to 21-day trials. Dementia respite care also includes support and resources for families. Speak to our team today and tailor a respite stay that suits you and your loved one. Stay as little or as long as you like. We offer a range of dementia respite care options in Sydney including flexible respite short stays and day respite. Our flexible approach is designed to support you in the way that you need, with unmatched flexibility and availability and no waitlists.
Are you NDIS registered?
Yes. We are a registered NDIS and SIL provider. If you’re caring for someone with dementia, such as a family member, we can help them navigate the NDIS and ensure they get adequate support and resources. Whether it’s long-term care, improving safety features, assisting with communication skills or assisting with any of the many challenges a person with dementia might face, our team ensure you get the support you need as per your NDIS budget and plan.
Who is eligible for dementia aged care?
Our homes are designed specifically for those living with dementia, however, some of our residents are living with other disabilities or Acquired Brain Injuries. Eligibility for dementia aged care at Videri is determined by an assessment process by our Social Worker and Registered Nurse, and based on availability in our homes.
Some Government Funding can be used to offset our fees via a Home Care Package or the NDIS. Eligibility for this dementia aged care funding and other services is determined by NDIS Plan Managers and the ACAT assessment team.
What kinds of dementia care do you offer?
We can care for all kinds of dementia including Alzheimer’s, Vascular dementia, Lewy Body disease, Frontotemporal dementia, Young onset dementia, Parkinson’s related dementia, and Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome. We’re also supporting carers each day, providing advice and resources to assist family members who are caring for someone with dementia.
Do you only do dementia care?
No. While many of our residents are living with dementia, we can also care for people with high care needs including cancer, brain tumours, motor neuron disease, mental health, terminal illness, Parkinson’s disease and acquired brain injuries (ABI). Our carers are skilled in looking after residents with a range of conditions.
Tell me more about the Videri concept?
Here are just a few ways to explain how we do dementia differently.
The power of normal
Our homes are just that – real homes, embedded in local neighbourhoods. Not tucked away in aged care campuses or dementia-specific facilities. Because people like to live in regular, ordinary places, even with extraordinary needs.
We focus on what is strong, not what’s wrong
Our care model is built around strengths, not deficits. We support people to continue doing what they can do, with meaning and purpose.
Living, not just existing
Daily life here is filled with meaning – social connection, conversation, shared meals, outings, gardening, music, or whatever brings joy. It’s not about schedules; it’s about a vibrant life still to be lived.
Family aren’t ‘visitors’ – they are a part of our home
Families aren’t managed – they’re welcomed. There are no set visiting hours. We encourage families to stay involved in the rhythm of daily life, just as they normal would if they were still at home.
Real care, always close by
There’s always someone awake, present, and nearby. Our Homemakers provide hands-on, 24/7 care, backed by daily clinical and social work visits. No distant nurse stations or call bells.
Support that grows with you
We don’t over-medicalise. Care evolves as needed – with medical equipment hired and brought in only when it’s truly required.
Food that feels like home
Our ‘Food and Mood’ program is personalised for every resident. We cook the meals people actually love to eat – because food should comfort, nourish, and connect.
No bureaucracy, just care
No ACAT required. No waiting lists or long assessments. Just a simple, supportive admissions process that gets care started when it’s needed most.
What support is there for family members while caring for someone with dementia?
A person living with dementia requires care that’s as unique as their needs. For family members, it’s important to understand the symptoms, possible changes in behaviour, the importance of nutritious foods, and much more. Visit our Planning Care for a Loved One page for more useful tips.
How do I support a family member as dementia progresses?
Research suggests that people with dementia can experience the condition very individually. Each person has a different journey, as do those caring for a person with dementia. A person with dementia has specific health care needs. As dementia progresses, a person’s behaviour may change. A caregiver needs people to talk to as well, and it’s important to take regular breaks.
Whether you or your loved one need respite care, permanent care or simply some additional support to help you navigate the future, we are here to help. Take a look at our planning care for a loved one page on our website, or get in touch with us for a conversation about next steps on 1300 015 406.
