At Videri, our homes feel like homes. Rather than the sterile, clinical environments families sometimes encounter elsewhere, we create places where your loved one feels at ease, surrounded by familiar rhythms, warm relationships and the small comforts of everyday life. This is part of how we do dementia differently.

Creating homes, not institutions: the Videri approach

At Videri, we create homes, never institutions. Each home is a place where your loved one feels they belong, and where every day is shaped around who they are and what brings them joy. Cooking together, tending the garden, choosing the music that fills the room: these are the rhythms of daily life at Videri, and they’re guided by your loved one’s life story, tastes and preferences.

Rather than fitting residents into a routine, we shape each day around them.

Our homes sit in beautiful, well-connected pockets of Sydney, each surrounded by the everyday rhythms of neighbourhood life: shops, green spaces, cafés and parks within easy reach.

Getting out into the community

Life at Videri extends beyond the front door. Depending on what brings each resident joy, we explore the local neighbourhood together: a stroll through the park, a film screening, a hairdressing appointment, a yoga class, or simply a coffee in a favourite café. Being part of the wider community is part of who our residents are, and it’s part of how we support them to flourish.

How Videri tailors care for every individual

We take the time to truly know each resident: their story, their career, the people they love, the music they grew up with, the things that bring them comfort. We capture this through our How Am I Unique? assessment, a conversation that helps our Homemakers, Social Workers and families see each resident in their fullness.

And the best person to help us know your loved one is you. We sit down with families early to learn what matters most. Did your loved one spend their career teaching? We might create lessons or posters together. Is the garden their pride and joy? They’ll tend ours and roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, too.

A Videri home doesn’t have to be a permanent move, either. Find out more about our flexible respite options for shorter stays.

Building trust and community

Trust is the foundation of everything we do, between our team, residents and families. From the moment your loved one arrives, we begin building that trust gently and carefully. A considered welcome, a family-partnership approach, and opportunities to step into familiar and meaningful parts of daily life all help residents settle, feel confident, and feel at home.

The Small Home environment

Small homes make a real difference. With only a small number of residents in each home, the atmosphere feels familiar and calm, closer to a family home than anything resembling a hospital. Quiet corners, shared meals, conversations that aren’t rushed. This is what allows our Homemakers to truly know each resident, and what allows each resident to feel known.

Family are welcome

There are no limited visiting hours at Videri. Families are welcome anytime: to share a meal, join us for a walk, or simply spend an afternoon together. We see families as partners in care, and we stay in close, regular contact.

Our Homemakers share daily updates: photos and videos capturing the moments that fill each day, whether that’s a neighbourhood stroll, time in the garden, or convivium around the dinner table. And we don’t only reach out when something needs attention; we share the joyful moments too.

Families are also warmly invited to our dementia education workshops and our 5-day Dementia Together Retreat, both designed to support you alongside your loved one.

If your loved one is storming, what we call the days that can feel more challenging, we work alongside families with curiosity and care to explore what might be needed.

Meaningful daily engagement

A sense of purpose doesn’t fade with a dementia diagnosis. We believe deeply that residents continue to flourish when they stay connected to the rhythms of daily life: cooking, barbecuing, gardening, folding the laundry, setting the table together. These small, familiar moments hold real meaning, and they’re woven into every day at Videri.

Celebrating individuality

At Videri, we have a Homemaker model. Our Homemakers are at the heart of each home, getting to know each resident, building strong personal relationships, and creating cherished moments that bring joy, even on the harder days. Care is tailored to fit your loved one’s life story, habits and small comforts. Here, care isn’t a break from life, it’s a continuation of it.

No matter what your loved one currently needs, contact us to find out why families choose Videri.
